Take it, Yeezus!

Nearly every artist has merchandise, but most are pretty terrible. From shirts with bad logos or just the artists face plastered on a bad quality shirt, many artists (and their team) don’t put any thought into merchandise. However, when an artist actually pays attention to merchandise it can pay off big time. Not only is it a way to make more income for the artist, but it also helps promote tours and be an outlet of artistic and personal expression. Here are some artists with great merchandise.

1. Kanye West

You may think Kanye is making moves in fashion recently with his Yeezy collections, but he has been making some great clothing for a while, specifically with his 2013 Yeezus tour merchandise. Featuring original artwork from Wes Lang, the shirts fits perfectly with Kanye’s 2013 album Yeezus.

2. FKA Twigs

FKA Twig’s visual has always been a stand out. Her tour merchandise reflected her music and videos - she took the usual formula of just putting the artist's face on a piece of clothing, but somehow made it cool.

3. Travis Scott

Specifically for his Rodeo tour, Travis created some great minimal, dark and moody clothing through the use of simple colours and heavy hitting graphics. Mr Scott, well done! Looking forward to checking out the new collection - coming soon.

4. Tyler The Creator/Odd Future

Golf Wang, the clothing label founded by Tyler The Creator and Odd Future, has always been about bright colours and happiness, and this has shone through in his clothing designs. Always colourful and executed with passion, his attention-to-detail has meant he hits the mark with his merchandise.

5. Vic Mensa

Vic Mensa’s designs normally come with some heavy-handed social message, but also refer back to old punk and metal, making them a must-have in a bold fashion repertoire.
